The Components

Our log homes include all the materials necessary for building the weather-tight shell of your new log home. Delivered as a guaranteed complete package, they can be erected on any standard foundation that meets local building codes. Components and materials include:

Floor joist as required for plan, material for carrying beam, 5/8″ OSB tongue & groove boards for subfloor and log-siding for skirting. Pre-engineered I-joists are optional.

Walls High-tech triple system, high quality seasoned eastern white pine or white cedar, with red cedar on request. Double pre-stained tongue & groove, precision pre-cut to plan, and numbered and pre-drilled for through-bolts if managing building yourself. Corners interlocking or butt & pass.

Gable Ends Solid precision pre-cut logs to roof pitch.

Roof Structure Post & beam style with 2′ x 6″ kiln-dried spruce decking, two layers of rigid insulation and sheathing over insulation, 20 year asphalt shingles and pine facia. Optional Douglas fir or parallam beams.

Windows Pine windows, double glazed with insect screens. Optional aluminium clad or red cedar.

Exterior Door Pre-hung steel insulated door.

Caulking If self-build, sufficient quantity supplied for logs, windows and installation.

Log Treatment First coat Cuprinol Timbercare

Loft or Full Second Floor Structural timber purlins with 2′ x 6″ kiln dried spruce decking.

Dormers 2″ x 6″ framing with sheathing and log siding. Roof structure as above.

Interior Finishing Priced on request.
