Footprint: Concrete plinth, pillars or rafts made from steel or concrete.
Exterior Walls: Constructed from 6x6 or 8x8 inch solid log, usually Eastern White Pine but Red or White Cedar can be specified. All timbers are treated against infestation and with microporous preservative. Logs are normally D section grooved on their top and bottom surfaces to interlock; two silicone and one foam seal ensure water and draught proofing. Galvanised steel bolts from top to bottom compress the timbers and seals and are adjustable. Pre-drilled timbers for trunking according to customer requirements.
Windows: Matching timber double-glazed as standard, with security locks. Customer may specify otherwise.
Doors: Exterior to customer specification and interior usually panelled solid matching timber hung in timber frames. Materials, design and furniture to customer specification if required.
Interior Walls: Matching timber tongued and grooved on to stud partition or to customer specification.
Floors: Ground floor of 4x2 inch battens, with 2 inch insulation, boarded in matching timber or to customer specification. First floor joists to regulation standard boarded to match or to customer specification. Matching skirting boards.
Roof: Cathedral style matching timber construction or engineered trusses boarded to customer specification. Purlins and rafters boarded and or felted according to design. Exterior shingles in Eastern White Pine, Red or White Cedar, or asphalt. Tiles or slates to customer specification.
